In 2025, Russians are allowed to enter Thailand. Visa-free 30 days, eVisa, 6-month visas. Thai Immigration & MFA data.

In 2025, citizens of the Russian Federation can freely enter Thailand for tourism, business, and private visits. The country has restored all entry regimes after the pandemic but introduced new rules to regulate migration and combat visa runs.

Current Entry Rules for Russians

  • Visa-free entry: up to 30 days when arriving by air (in effect since 2022);
  • Electronic Visa (eVisa): available for stays up to 60 days, extendable by another 30 days in Thailand;
  • Tourist Visa TR: issued for 60 days with a 30-day extension possible in-country;
  • Long-Term Visa (LTR): up to 5 years for digital nomads, retirees, investors, and skilled professionals.

Key Change: End of '30+30+30' Rule

The rule allowing three 30-day entries per year via land borders (e.g., from Cambodia) has been officially abolished since 2023. Now:

  • After exiting Thailand upon 30-day stay expiry, re-entry is only possible after a 15-day cooling-off period;
  • Frequent entries may lead to deportation or entry bans due to suspected visa tourism.

6-Month & Long-Term Visas 2025

Since November 2023, Thailand has actively issued multiple-entry tourist visas valid for 6 months (via embassies and eVisa). In 2025, they have become standard for long-stay tourists.

LTR (Long-Term Resident) visas are also available:

  • Digital Nomads: income of 80,000 THB/month, 5-year visa;
  • Retirees: age 50+ or pension of 65,000 THB/month, 10-year visa;
  • Investors: investment of 50M THB, 10-year visa;
  • Skilled Professionals: employment in EEC, 10-year visa.

How to Apply in 2025?

Recommended methods:

  • Online via eVisa: [https://www.evisa.thailand.go.th](https://www.evisa.thailand.go.th) — 7–10 days, 2,000 THB;
  • Thai Embassy in Moscow: in-person, biometrics, 5–7 days;
  • Airlines: some carriers (Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways) assist with documentation.

Entry Requirements

For entry in 2025, you need:

  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months);
  • Return or onward ticket;
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation);
  • Sufficient funds (10,000 THB per person or 20,000 for a family);
  • Travel health insurance (mandatory since 2024, minimum 50,000 USD coverage).
