Since November 2024, charter programs from Barnaul (Altai Krai) to popular resorts in Vietnam and Thailand have resumed. Residents can now fly directly to Nha Trang, Bangkok, and the island of Phuket without layovers.
Routes and Airlines
According to RATA-News, the flight program is operated by major Russian tour operators:
- Nha Trang, Vietnam — flights operated by Katekavia on a Boeing 757-200 for tour operator Anex Tour. The program runs until April 6, 2025, with tour durations of 11–12 nights.
- Phuket, Thailand — Katekavia also operates flights on a larger Boeing 767-300 every 10 nights. A total of 16 flights are scheduled until April 12, 2025.
- Bangkok, Thailand — Royal Flight operates flights on a Boeing 757-200 for Coral Travel. The program runs until April 4, 2025.
Tour Operators and Bookings
Tour packages are available through four major tour operators: Anex Tour, Pegas Touristik, Coral Travel, and Sunmar. All have secured seat blocks on these charter flights.
Regional Tourism Outlook
Altai travel agencies believe the peak of the outbound tourism crisis has passed. Despite ongoing challenges — including short booking horizons (typically 2–3 weeks) — demand for Asian destinations remains stable.
However, some tourists still consider the 2015 Kogalymavia plane crash in Egypt when choosing destinations, leading to stronger preference for trusted airlines and direct flights.
Winter Season Forecast
Market participants express cautious optimism: the 2024–2025 winter season is on par with the previous year. At current booking rates, all scheduled charter programs are expected to be fully implemented.
